How do I make a bootable copy of my Windows Vista disc?

Crazie Flawed N October 20, 2013

My Gateway operating system disc is badly scratched and will no longer boot. After some time in my son’s PC, it finally showed in the DVD drive. I really need it to reinstall the operating system on my PC but I am unsure about how to copy it “correctly”.

I have left it in his PC because I’m pretty sure after this it will never get “read” again.

How can I get my copy of Windows Vista to properly boot? Or, how can I backup my copy of Windows Vista?

if you manage to polish the scratch.. try this software's for copying your DVD|CD ..
    Ashampoo Burning Studio
    Nero Burning Essentials
or simply put the CD|DVD in the Drive then copy it and burn it on another CD|DVD

You may also be able to salvage your DVD by polishing the scratches out of it. You will need to buy a DVD polisher such as this one for the job:

    1) while rebooting Gateway laptop hold down the ALT Key and repeatedly hit f10
    2) it should bring you to a boot sequence screen then choose the Hard drive
    3) hold down ALT and repeatedly hit f10 again that should prompt the restore option for gateway
if there is no recovery partition, then you wont get to the factory default
before going through this procedure do backup to external drive important files

    1) Go to Start
    2) Gateway Gateway Restoration Management.
