How to disable HP’s proprietary software “HP Dock” from launching on boot of Presario CQ42 laptop?

“HP Dock” is a type of software which by default launches after boot, though it can manually closed thereafter.

Hello, this can be disabled on BIOS. When you start computer, make sure to press key that is required to entered BIOS on your system. In the presario models, you have to press the F10 key at start up. Once that is done, you would have to find the entry for the docking software, most times it is a matter of setting the time to 0.

In your case what I would recommend would be the following: just to disable the HP advisor software at startup. In order to do that, try the following:

    -- click on start,
-- in search bar, type msconfig and press enter
-- on tabs on top, select the startup tab
-- make sure to uncheck the HP Advisor entry
    -- reboot computer

    Hopefully it works for you
