How do I carefully fix a hard disk mounting error in Xubuntu 13.10?

Md Mukhtar M October 18, 2013

I have 3 partitions in my 500 GB hard disk: One of them has Windows 8. The second partition is of my all data. The third is totally empty.

I installed Xubuntu 13.10 on the empty one (dual boot with advanced option). It installed correctly but now when I try to open the other 2 drives it fails with a long error something related to mounting of drives.

How do I fix it? And, no, I don’t want to lose any data of those drives.

on Windows 8 Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > System Setting > Choose what the power buttons do and uncheck the Turn on fast startup
