I have a Sony 3DTV (model: KDL47W800A). I have tried many flash and external drives to connect to the TV, but it doesn’t detect them. I have 3D movies copied to my 1TB external drive but I can’t seem to play them – what can I do?
I note that the manual Rajaa refers to states (http://www.sony-asia.com/microsite/bravia_i-manuals/FY13/EXW800/GA_AU/c_usbrec_aus_nz_set.html) that you can use the TV to record programs. It also explains (http://www.sony-asia.com/microsite/bravia_i-manuals/FY13/EXW800/GA_AU/usb_europe_ga_twn.html) how to view photos and videos recorded elsewhere and lists the supported formats and codecs, as well as a number of limitations on what kind of USB device you can use. Have you checked these pages?
is the hard drive format FAT32?.
perhaps it is not receiving the necesary amount of power
mine major problem is that , my tv dosen't detect NTFS file system. and problem with Fat32 is that we can't copy paste file more than 3gb. But files of 3d movies are larger than 7gb. please help
How about to split the files and read then one after the other
Have you tried to copy the 3D movie into a pendrive and simply plug it in to the USB port in the TV? Then you can access the movie in the pen drive.
What is the external HDD model no. Have you checked if it is compatible with your TV? The input connectors mentioned are S-Video,HDMI,USB Port. Does the manual provided show you how to connect an external HDD to the mentioned TV? Probably you can refer to the i-manual link at http://www.sony-asia.com/microsite/bravia_i-manuals/FY13/EXW800/GA_AU/index.html and click on "Using Other Devices". I am sure it will be helpful in setting up the external HDD for you.
