How can I use Internet Download Manager after an existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host?

I don’t know what should I do. My IDM said this:

An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. This normally results if the peer application on the remote host is suddenly stopped, the host is rebooted or the remote host used a “hard close”.

What should I do? I can’t download any video after this error message. Please somebody help me!

    yes i do faces same problem! proxy setting problem
    Go to 'options'. in dialogue box select 'Proxy/ Socks' tab. uncheck 'Use proxy' option.
    worked out for me

    My network uses a proxy setting.
    After I get the same probelm above, i put the correct proxy setting in IDM and it is working now.

    Check Proxy setting of IDM, Clear Any proxy given, That may cause this error.

    this error often occurs when the server you are downloading from does not allows you to download the file, try downloading without IDM or using a VPN such as spotflux

    its probably that the site is not allowing any download managers to download the files. use a browser without IDM integration or download without using IDM. its mostly alt+click but sometimes you might have to configure the shortcut.

    Restart the download or try again later.
    Commonly it's caused by pausing the download while the site doesn't allow resuming. Another probability is the download link can't be grabbed by IDM. Hold down ALT while clicking on the download link so your browser takes over the download.

    Try re installing IDM or getting a newer version .. If still no working use another video downloading software .

    Check the download link using Chrome's downloader by disabling the Chrome plugin under Options in IDM.
    If the link or links work fine then check that the site allows the use of third party download managers.

    I have had this a couple of times and by disabling my browser from IDM's download list, it has always worked for me.

      You don't have to disable/enable your browser from the list every time it happens. Just hold down ALT to let your browser takes over downloads from sites that don't allow third part downloaders.

    reinstall IDM
    restart modem
