I just received my first iPhone from my husband. I would like to transfer all of our Outlook contacts which exist on our computer to the iPhone. I do not want to use and sync private data with iCloud if possible.
How do I do that?
I did this by setting up an exchange account on my iphone and only synced contacts. It's very easy to do. Here's some instructions:
try via iTunes
1) Connect iPhone to iTunes
2) Click Select your iPhone name in the "Devices" section located in the left menu column of iTunes interface
3) Click the "Info" tab in the main window and check the box marked "Sync Contacts with".
4) From the drop-down box next to "Sync Contacts with" select "Outlook."
5) Choose from the options "All Contacts" or "Selected Groups."
Make sure that the iTunes sync add-in is enabled in Outlook
for Outlook 2010. Go to Options->Add-in and click Go under Manage add-in. Look for Itunes Outlook add-in.
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Troubleshooting contact and calendar syncing via USB on Windows
You can sync contacts using iTunes via the USB docking cable.
CopyTrans Contacts allows you to transfer Outlook contacts to your iOS device.
You can also (somewhat) manually transfer them using vCard(s).
Thanks, CopyTrans Contacts got me sorted out.
