How can I download documents from Gmail account?

Michelle Buell December 12, 2012

On my Gmail account, anytime I scan a document, I receive it in my inbox; I can view it, but cannot download it regardless the size of the document. I get a message saying that it has not been downloaded (my laptop is Core i5, with operating system Windows 7)? Thanks.

You can download attachments from your email easily. If there are any specific problems, please specify and I am sure one can troubleshoot.

Wait, why are documents you scan going to Gmail? I'm quite confused...

Switching to a better browser might help. Right-clicking, the clicking "Save As" also might help; maybe there's a busted plugin in your browser that's trying to open the documents.

I hope this helps, but I'm confused. Can you let us know why scans are ending up in Gmail? Are you scanning them and emailing them to yourself? Help me not feel like I'm going crazy! :)

Try downloading your attached documents with different browser or use an email client like MS Outlook, Thunderbird, Postbox etc.

does it happen to all different kind of attachments? is it possible your send doc is a link and not the file itself?

You can try Email client like Mozilla Thunderbird or any other, which are very useful and saves your time. You can also try this in Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

You can't download the file which is more than 20MB. so check the size of the document first then If the internet is slow or your PC having some problems then you are facing this types of problem.I think u should check this also......!!

I would recommend using something like Chrome or Firefox. But if you do want to us Explorer make certain that Compatibility View is turned OFF. If it does not work with an other browser, could you take a screenshot.

    Hope it Helps!
