How can I combine two images into one?

Dr.Sunil Vaswani December 24, 2012

How can I make one image by superimposing a part of one image onto another? I think this is called layering. I have two .jpg images on my hard drive and I am using a Windows 7 PC.

I think using CS6 for that job is overkill. It can be easily achieved using Paint.Net or GIMP, or even some online editors. All free.

I totally agree with you Lisa. You don't need a hammer to put a needle in flax...Proposing any Photoshop version for what he is asking is simply useless. In fact he can even use online tool like it's free and doesn't even require to sign up.

Use Paint.Net. Paste the second image as a new layer onto the first one. You can then fool around with the blending choices and opacity percentage in the properties of the new layer.

If you don't wish to purchase a copy of Adobe Photoshop, or use a less-than-legal version, you can consider using GIMP

If you Photoshop installed reply me here so that i tell you instructions on how to do it using adobe Photoshop.
If you do not have Photoshop, you do not need to pay 100 dollars for purchasing Photoshop for doing simple tasks like combining two images.
You can use online services such as pixlr which is free and really easy to use. Go to file open an image from your computer. again go to file open the second one. click on move tool on layers pane drag one image on another and set the position. this is really simple.
If you are doing this on a regular basis and do not want to go online each time you can download a free option like Paint.NET which is more that enough for simple and even advanced tasks.
