Here’s one for my fellow Android addicts:
Is there a way to consolidate notifications, or hide them altogether?
I’ve got several permanent lines on my notification bar — Tasker, SwipePad, Gentle Alarm, etc. The notifications are important because they let the app stay resident — otherwise Android would kill it for inactivity. But is there a way to make the notifications invisible? Or maybe consolidate them all into one line of “permanent tasks”?
I’ve searched all over the place for this but no joy. I’m starting to suspect it’s a hard system limitation, but maybe you guys have something to teach me?
SmartBar looks interesting but doesn't work well on Froyo. Notification Manager seems to do something totally different.
maybe in settings- advanced- uncheck "notify on new mail"???
Go to setting and click on apps then click running apps and end the push notifications
on Adw Launcherif you click on the icon to the left of the house then choose "adw settings"then choose "screen preferences" then click on "hide statusbar

Heya,
First, thanks for the answer! :)
Second, I already use GoLauncher and I use its autohide ability. But when I show the notification bar, these notifications are still there. That's what I'm asking about -- is there a way to hide or consolidate those?
Adw launcher

You can hide the notification bar permanently but then set a gesture to swipe
down/up and you get it to pop up like it was always there. Do the same swipe and
it goes away

LauncherPro

It lets you hide the notification bar, meanwhile you can show it by gesture or desktop buttons
