This already happened to me..All you have to do is get a password reset from fb..then when you get access... change your password. Easy!
for next time use kind of password managers like
1password
https://agilebits.com/onepassword/win
so will be easier to remember if something goes wrong.

A small change:
http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=hack_nologin_access
The above link your provided requires password (which we do not have).
and the description you provided below is actually for this link:

Hello Jay.0,
Isn't Sharon account hacked?
Therefore I provided that second link
http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=hack_nologin_access
where they can enter their email and click next, then the process will ask for the old or current password and then if all that was correct then they are provided the facility to enter a new password so that they can then access their account and decide whether to keep the account or delete it.
And yes your 'forgot password' method is also effective as long as the Facebook and email password are not similar because If they are similar, then maybe the hacker might have got access to the email too and changed the password of the email. Hence If that has happened Reeves family would not be able to retrieve the password through 'Forgot Password' so they need to go for the reporting account part..
So that's why I provided some alternatives..
:)
I tried the url you posted, and it I could not
It helps you identify your account, and once you identify it, it takes you to the same recovery option.
That's what happened when I tried it.
Ok I found this that
If you enter the current password then 'only' It will take you to the changing password window(check second picture)Which I was talking about
AND
If you Enter an Old Password then It will take you to the recovery option window like you said.(Check First Picture) Which you were talking about.
Check Images I have attached...
So that is where, all the confusion took place..
:)
Hi Karkala Nayak u added link is incorrect plz correct (http://heavydot.com/how-to-recover-hacked-facebook-account/)
Thanks
You can recover the account if it has a username or mobile number attached,
2nd option is recovering the email password, which email is it ? gmail, yahoo hotmail ?
Click on "forgot password" kind of option, and recover the password.
well, this question is asked before, you can report the account as your old account or fake account via report block option.
But, first try to recover the password by username/mobile number or by recovering the email password first.
