Does anyone know of good, fast, free windows XP Backup software that works with external USB drives and does not have any trojans in it?

Check out some of the apps listed on our Best Windows Software page, Backups section //www.makeuseof.com/tag/best-windows-software/

If I am not mistaken, SyncBack Freeware, FBackup and Todo Backup have this option

Hello, just remember that the backup utility is install by default on windows xp Pro.  If you are using the home edition is not installed by default.  You will have to look in the extras section of your installation disk and install it from there.

Check for Backup solutions under the Backup section here:

    your question has the answer.
You are using xp! Inbuilt programs are not trojans, dont worry :)

    click Start menu>> Programs>> Accessories>> System Tools>>Backup.

insert a usb storage device before you start the backup.

Now you can either backup data of your choice to a usb storage device.

or you can go to advanced mode, and set scheduled back ups.

You can also use the Automated System Recovery Wizard in the Backup utility to help you repair your system.

see help menu for more details.
