Does GMail auto-delete messages after a certain period?

Do emails in Gmail get auto-deleted after some time? Are emails of say, 8 years back still available in my Gmail?

No. Your messages are kept for as long as the account is open.

Thanks. Please tell , is messages getting "archived" get auto-deleted?

No. Archived means "removed from inbox" but the message is still in "All Mail".

Thanks. Please tell a) is it true that if archived messages in Gmail , are not accessed for a "specified" time period , then they are moved to Trash folder? b) Do messages in Trash folder get auto-deleted in a time period?

No, a) like I said in my original message, Google does not delete your message (not to the bin and not otherwise) and b) also no.

Google simply give you a (large) quota and leave you to get on with your messaging. They don't do anything to your messages automatically.

Thanks for decisive retort. Please tell , messages in "sent" folder are not auto-deleted? You may weblink to support your reply

I asked this question , because it seems I could not find a message which was long back in my gmail ( either sent , or other folder )

If your account will be inactive then Google will delete your account, so their will be no chances to recover the emails.
