Why Gmail not allowing file attachments?

Tim January 25, 2010

When trying to attach files I repeatedly get this error message: “Attachment failed. This may be due to a proxy or firewall.” Any ideas?

You can Attach .exe or other types of Files which gmail or others may restrict for security purpose. Simply rename the .exe to .exe.ars and the .exe file will be sent. Easy!!!!

    Changing the HTTPS setting
    # Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
    # Set 'Browser Connection' to 'Don't use https' or 'Always use https.'
    # Click Save Changes.
    # Manually change the URL to http://mail.google.com to start accessing Gmail via http.

    changing attchment format
    Setting>general>Attachments>Basic attachment features
    Click Save Changes

Try disabling HTTPS and use Gmail in HTTP while you’re at that email.
