How to fix no audio on Windows Vista Home Premium?

Myke46 September 2, 2011

I have no sounds whatsoever in a PC running Windows Vista Home Premium with only 1GB memory. I have tried all the obvious settings and made sure all drivers are up to date. Can anyone help?

Hello, have you tried using the dxdiag command?  To use the dxdiag command the only things you have to do are the following:

    -- click on start (orb)
    -- click on run
-- type dxdiag in the box that pops up
-- a new tabbed box will appear
-- click on the sound option
-- make sure your speakers are on
    -- click on test directsound
-- follow the instructions and answer questions
-- if during testing you can not hear any sound an error will appear under the notes section
-- now you can research the error provided
