Lost my Sony handy cam and have some MiniDVDs not finalized. Computer won’t read them. Need to recover videos for editing.
were you able to finalize the DVD and use the videos on it? Please let us know. Thank you!

I'm afraid I do not have a solution for you. I recommend that you ask a new question. Please use the respective link on //www.makeuseof.com/answers
Hello, there is a software name CDRoller that can help you recover unfinalized minidvd. Only downside is that it is a paid software but if you download the trial at this link: http://www.cdroller.com/htm/dvdvideorecovery.html, it will tell you if it can recover or finalize your disk. It works by retrieving the VOB files and it can convert them into mpeg files. It is also able to make simple dvds without menu that can be played on regular DVD players.
Also, you could use the program shown on the next link. This is also a paid software but you have a full trial where you can use the full program.
You can also try the instruction on the following link, maybe it works for you:
When trying to play minidvds on your computer, it is better if your drive is a DVD +/-R, DVD W/RW, instead of a DVD ROM
recover your video files with CDROLLER
Insert your Mini DVD into your computer's DVD drive.
Right-click on your Mini DVD's icon. Click "Close Session" to finalize your Mini DVD without using your camcorder
