When I try to login to my Facebook account I always receive the message “Server error” but if I log in to my son’s account it works just fine. Mine won’t work, so what can I do?

If the cookie clearing, incognito, and restarting does not work, try from another computer and also try to access a page other than your wall as you may have an app or a link that is misbehaving.

    - Try another browser - Firefox or Interner Explorer
    - Remove cookies and cache
    - Check if internet is connected or not
    - Above all, check with your son if he playing any prank :-)

Use Firefox, I.E, Opera, Safari, etc, to be sure that it isn't an error with Chrome. Or, clear your cache/cookies, and restart your computer.

Sometimes Facebook blocks users temporarily if any suspicious activity is found. I faced this a few times. It frequently happens when you login to Facebook from different places quickly. For example if you login to facebook from an Indian IP address once and immediately login using an US ip address, it will show you a warning "Unrecognized Place or Device". Usually people using facebook using mobile devices and desktops siultaneously will come across such kinds of problems. You neednot worry. Facebook will soon verify and restore your account.

Confirm that the error isnt a Chrome related problem by trying to login with any other browser such as I.E.
If you are able to login then in Chrome, clear the browsers cache and cookies and try again.

Post back the results so we can help you further.

Or try the incognito mode in the browser. This would not save any cookies onto your system.

Try clearing the cookies and cache. For ease, download CCleaner from http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER and clean your cache, cookies, and other junk files that may be causing problems. These items may be interfering with your account when logging in. I have had similar issues when using our computer that has multiple users using Facebook, each having different accounts for Facebook.
