I have purchased a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 for my new 2014 laptop. How do I enter product key? Error message said “this is not an Office 2013 product key”? Help! Mary
i think you should be able to activate via phone option but you need Microsoft Office 2007, also you can purchase Office 2013 product key and activate it, it is up to you to decide, Office 2013 is more recent and with more features if you are heavy microsoft Office user.
Run this Fixit troubleshooter and clean up any remnents of Office 2013. Only fix Office 2013 entries or you could disable some programs.
You seem to have the trial version of Office 2013 installed on your computer; you would need a copy of Office 2007 installed on your computer to use the product code activation key you purchased. If you do not plan on using Office 2013, you can uninstall it to make more space available on your hard drive.
To download a copy of Office 2007, go here: http://www.microsoft.com/office/downloads/. Select the product version to purchased the key for, i.e. Home and Student, Professional, or Small Business, follow the prompts to download the necessary installer file(s), and then install Office 2007. It should ask to enter the product key during installation.
