Why doesn’t my PC detect my HP Color LaserJet CP1215 printer?

My HP printer is not being detected by my Windows PC. Accoring to some sources this is due to a problem with drivers. I want to make sure before taking any further steps to clear my HP Color LaserJet CP1215 printer problem
as the the article http://www.orclage.com/hp-color-laserjet-cp1215-printer-driver-download-windows/ has made me doubtful.

You should start by looking at the relevant HP page http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=uk&lc=en&product=3422476. From the "Troubleshooting" menu at the top choose "Solve a problem" and see if you can find an answer there.

If not, we'll need more information including:
What version of Windows are you using?
Is it a new printer (never used), one that you have used before, or second hand one that you got from someone else? If it was previously working on your PC, was there a particular event which caused it to stop working (e.g. a paper jam)?
Have you tried to "Add printer" and was told that there was no printer connected or have you not tried that yet?
