How can I best digitalize or scan thousands of documents?

Raj Kapoor October 5, 2010

I have a project to digitize some thousands of documents. What is the best possible method to achieve it with minimal resources and best results? How to scan so many documents easily and how to get the data encrypted?

At work (a school), we can use a copy machine to scan a bunch of documents into one PDF. I am not sure if someplace like Kinkos can do that for you or not.

use a 5 MP or more camera to take pictures of them and put it in your PC, i think it is most greenest solution.

Thanks. I'll try the link. But I have software i guess I'm unable to manipulate. I have HP Scanner,PDF OCR4, AnybizSoft, and Expert PDF 6. What is the combination to make searchable PDF from scanned copies.

Would appreciate any sort of help.

Thanks. I'll check the link. But please, I need tutorial on Expert PDF 6. I like the features but to complex. The CHM is useless.
