I discovered Foobar when I was told that every music lover / audiofile who likes to be taken seriously, must have experienced this software. It’s strenght lies in het fact that it just does what a audio player has to do (“less makes more”). But if you’re an advanced user, a whole magical world of components opens without almost unlimited possibilities to customize and personalise your application just perfect to your needs. Since foobar, my terrifying quest for the perfect music player (simple+strong) was solved!

Winamp is not so good and a little out of fashion. It may be one of the best 10 ears ago but not now. Get other media player app (music/video or both) instead.

AIMP player: much better than winamp, more reliable, less resource hungry, and, very compact. For videos, I use VLC. The only reason I don't use VLC for music is that it doesn't collapse to a small enough size on screen. For which reason AIMP is a better choice. Don't be put-off by AIMP being of Russian origin: It is the single most reliable media player I have ever used.

WinAmp works for me. That is because I like to listen to the old time radio dramas and mysteries, playing Shoutcast in WinAmp.

For music, hands-down, Foobar2000 is the best.

What you have emphasized is Media Player. So what I suggest you is Zune Media Player. Brand new Microsoft media player with Windows Phone 7 interfaces and Cloud Music Store included.

    Link: http://www.zune.net/en-US/products/software/default.htm

Don't miss it! You will definitely loves it!

Give it a try! You will love that!!

there are tons of music players, but what you will consider 'the best' depends on what features you value most. So, what features do you enjoy about Mufin Player?

Personally, I want my player to launch fast, be lightweight, universal, with little disruptions or requests. My preferences are met by VLC Media Player, which doesn't just play music but also videos. And best of all: it doesn't require Codecs, so it works out of the box.

Another great player with similar advantages and even more features than VLC is KMPlayer.

actually I need something 100% automatic , for example muffin player sort music by their similarities in tone , mufin player analyse all of my music library and it put same music together without looking in tags , u can sort them by tag too , but u know sometimes I really not in the mood , and I just think about one music , I want my player search my library and find all similar music with similar themes , I searched all of suggestion but I couldnt find a genius music player , I dont mind a heavy music player , I want something mix of mufin player , songbird , winamp and itunes ....

so what is it that Mufin doesn't do that you are still looking for a better alternative? What do Songbird, Winamp, and iTunes offer that Mufin is lacking?
