How can I delete an old Juno eMail account?

I would like to delete or deactivate my old free web-based Juno eMail account, but I cannot find a way to do that. I would be content to simply change my password to make it more secure, but I can’t find a way to do that either.

I’ve already tried poking through every obscure corner of the Juno site. I can’t find a way to contact Juno either, at least not via a method that Juno will respond to.

I’ve already searched the internet for the answer, and the only answers I find refer to deleting the Juno installation from a PC, not the web-based account.

With the increase in fraud associated with hacked eMail accounts I would think entities like Juno would want to decrease their liability by making it easier to control these details, but instead they seem to go out of their way to make it difficult or impossible.

Does anyone have an answer?
Thanks, Tim

    Deleting your account permanently
    We appreciate your
support and hope you are happy with your Juno service. If you are not
happy with Juno's Free Internet service, you can delete your account
entirely and permanently. You will no longer have access to your account
and no one will ever be able to create another account with the same
user name as the one you deleted. Because user names are not
case-sensitive, you will not even be able to create an account with a
user name that is spelled the same but capitalized differently.
To permanently delete your account in Juno 2.0 or later:
Make sure that you have enabled remote access for your account.Start Juno. When the Welcome to Juno screen appears, click Delete Account. On the Delete Account screen, click the Email address or Name arrow to select the account you want to delete. In the Password box, type the password for the account.Click Juno's central computers and this computer.Click OK.

it is unlikely that you will receive an answer here. Thus I recommend you to ask a new question. Thank you!

5 weeks. I've long since abandoned any hope of hearing from Juno.

I've done a quick search and found this, which is probably worth a go:

Start a new message from your Juno account to ""

In the subject line type "Cancel free membership" and in the body of the email type "Cancel my account for (your email)" replacing (your email) with your email.

    That should hopefully do it!
