I’m trying to access an old MacBook Pro hard disk on my MacBook Air. When I connect it via USB I can see folders, but not files. 220GB shows as used, but no data is visible. Are the files hidden somehow? How can I access them?
this problem happened with me also in my pen-drive
I had a software called "Advance System Care " of IOBIT , version 5
there is a option called "toolbox" in it
& there is a option of "disk explorer"
then there open the drive which u connected via usb
then it will show all the things in the drive (which are hidden, as well as not hidden )
& in this way I founded all my hidden items in my pen-drive
here is the download link
or download from softpedia.com
& the license of this software , u can get here (at makeuseof rewards program )
May be chances are your MAC hard disk infected by anti virus. You need to repair the drive. Search on Google MAC Recovery Software, there are many companies providing a software with free trial version. But i would suggest you to try "Kernel for MAC" the demo version of software to recover data. With the help of this trial version you are able see the preview of recovered data.
Open Terminal in the Utilities folder.
sudo chflags 0 /volumes/*
sudo chmod a+rx /volumes/*
