How can I convert WMA to MP3 for playback on my new phone?

Vivien Lu October 24, 2012

I have a lot of music files but they are in .WMA format and I want to convert all these files to MP3 format (with standard audio quality) so I can listen to them on my phone. Do you know of a free audio converter for Windows that can help?

    There are lots of choice.
you can use a video converter ultimate to do that.
Or you can use a professional Audio converter to do that.
And I choose to the video converter ultimate.
because it can also convert video, rip DVD, burn DVD, download video and more.

I use Format Factory all the times. It's an excellent tool but you can't escape the banner ad, sadly.

It can convert pretty much any media to any media, and pretty slick too.

if you wanna do your work faster and not care about those VERY-advanced options
then I would recommend the FREEMAKE's applications

they are FREE and also they have a BEAUTIFUL interface

    I use their three apps
Audio converter (this is your primary need right now)
    Video converter
    and Video Downloader

    hope ya find it useful

Try this. Fre:ac - Free Audio Converter at
My favorite for all audio types. Can even extract audio from MP4 clips. Import your file, choose your MP3 compression bitrate and quality and encode. Can also be used as a portable app on flash drive.

Try using WinFF which can be downloaded here:
All it does is provide a GUI for the command line process that can convert files in one batch.

MP3 file format is smaller and more easily recognized by music players or portable devices than WAV.
If you intend on converting WAV to MP3 for your phone or MP3 Players, then you'll need to convert from wav to mp3. Any Audio Converter Freeware can help you. It is the best tool for converting audio files formats i used, it will make it possible to listen to music on your phone.
