I tried to move files from a browser to an email. The icon changed from the arrow to an icon, but then the computer freezes. Any idea why?

Hello, what do you mean when you say a browser? If you want to attach files to an email, the file has to be in your hard drive/flashdrive/network storage. The only things you can attach to an email from your browser are links.
