    in IE9
    1. Run Internet Explorer, and press Ctrl + J

    2. Click options link on the download window

    3. By default it will download to the users Download folder, you can click browse button to locate the folder where you would like all the files to be saved after downloaded.

    4. Once configured then click OK

    If You are on IE
Click on Start—>Run type regedit click ok

Navigate the following key from left pane HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet Explorer

Edit the ‘download directory’ value to the full path of the directory you wish to use click ok

or In Internet explorer pick any file  and right-click on it
    Select save “Save Target as”
Navigate to the folder you want to save your DownLoad to and save it there
Next time you are downloading something it will save there.
some links that don’t give you a choice of download so you want to set it with those that do and work with it.
