Can virtual router software work with a desktop Windows XP PC?
I have known them to work with Windows 7 laptops but I’m unsure whether they can work with desktop PCs. Are there specific hardware and software requirements for them to work? Such as, is a WiFi adapter required?
The documentation page of Virtual router says that - one needs to have a WiFi device with its driver which supports Windows Virtual Wifi and Wireless Hosted Network features.
Also, have a look at the list of supported devices.
You mean laptop with wifi adaptor? So microsoft AD-hoc network would also wok only on wifi adaptor pcs?
Yes,PCs which has Wi-Fi adapter will work.
Even connectify works through wifi adaptor?
Yes,adapter is required.Since,to transmit WiFi signals,it needs a hardware.
ok. your point is clear now
