Is there a way to know the mobile number of the SIM card inside a tablet which does not support voice and SMS, but only 3G? Is the number stored in the device? It’s for a Dell Venue 7 3G tablet.
Each SIM card has a unique number. You can call the service provider and they will be able to tell you the number assigned to that SIM.
Technically the SIM card does contain a phone number information and it could be read out by tools. However, this only applies as long as no custom number was assigned and no SIM card change was performed.
Thanks. Please tell the tools by which the phone number information can be read out in a 3G sim tab having no voice calling and sms feature ( Dell Venue 7 - 3G model )
You can find more apps on the Play Store
The phone number should be in the "line number" field, however, some cards simply do not have it programmed. In that case you will have to use my initial suggestion, take note of the SIM card serial number and call the provider.
I tried few apps but they did not mention line or phone number. Another workaround ( other than serial number to provider ) would be inserting sim in another voice device and giving call to a mobile and check in caller id, right?
It is an option you can try, yes, but I can't tell you if it will actually work.
Some service providers sell pure Data SIM or Mobile VPN SIM cards which only provide access to the mobile data network but are not enabled for voice calls.
Thanks. I understand. The sim in question is enabled for voice and sms
