How to opt-out of Facebook tracking for ads targeting via “Like” and other codes on third-party pages?

You could also install an anti-tracking browser extension. Disconnect is a great one; it's free and set-and-forget. You can easily whitelist individual sites in it.

Just make sure to disable it on MakeUseOf, or commenting and giveaways will not work.

The following article lists a few things you can do to reduce the tracking

In addition there are also the Facebook ads settings

Last but not least you should probably remove Apps access to your data

But at the end of the day everything you do on Facebook can and will be used to track you, monetize your data. It's a billion dollar company which doesn't charge their users, it has to come from somewhere… The only true way to "opt out" is to simply stop using Facebook.

Thanks for the two weblinks. The settings weblink is what I had asked.
