I have 100 .mp3 songs with a bit rate of 128. I want to burn them to CDs with bitrates of 256/320, how can I increase the bitrates of the songs? Can I increase the bitrates of all the .mp3s at once or must I do each separate?
Converting an mp3, since it is not a lossless format, would likely cause the audio to degrade instead of increase in performance, even if you try to increase the bitrate. I don't know of any software that would up-convert audio to higher quality. The audio files need to be originally converted or recorded in high quality to have the higher bitrate in the first place. Otherwise, converting the file, no matter how high you increase the bitrate to, would only be done in vain.
I appreciate your reply and useful guidance. I shall follow your advice and wo'nt try to change the existing Bit rates.
doubling the bitrate from 128 kbps to 256 kbps won't make music sound twice as good,
