I have a spare Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 which runs on Android Gingerbread 2.3.6. Can I upgrade it to Jelly Bean?
I do not have any knowledge about this technical stuff. Any help would be appreciated, but must work! :)
I guess the last official update is 2.3.6 DXKT7 Firmware. You can update to that by the official channel via settings about phone/device software update via WiFi or data channel or you can also alternatively update it via Samsung Kies. For JellyBean you can try the unofficial channel. Refer to http://mobotechie.com/android/how-to-update-samsung-galaxy-fit-s5670-to-android-4-2-1-jellybean-ultimate-guide
Always start at XDA for your device at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1260 The Android Development section will have the info needed to root your device and then install custom ROMs. This may also include unlocking the bootloader. Be sure to read carefully and print the info you need before you start. Then download all the tools and step through the process.
For more of a walk through see http://www.techethon.com/update-galaxy-fit-gt-5670-to-android-4-2-1-jelly-bean-via-cm10-1/ Either way most Gingerbread devices will not see Jelly Bean so if you want it you will have to learn and work through the process. If it is to hard for you maybe you have a techie friend who might help. Good luck.
perhaps to wait sometime until things get solved?
