I have an Acer Aspire 7750z laptop and would like to upgrade it to a Core i5 processor. Is this at all possible?
Not possible for your laptop....but u can try overclocking it and installing a cooling system if u want.
ok guys, thanks alot. i may just have to sell it n maybe get a newer model
i dont think so better talk to acer technician !!!
if your motherboard supports i5 then you can but as much as i know laptop motherboards do not support other processors than they come with. it would be really hard to find the compatibility.
Your best option is to sell it and buy something newer.
Socket and chipset not compatible. If you want increased performance, install an 80 GB SSD for OS and maximize memory to 8GB of 1333MHz (2 soDIMMs) RAM.
you should contact acer support to guide you better but looking at the model you wont be able to.
Only a technician can help you
Is this your computer?
if so then it appears that you cannot upgrade to an i5.
What is it's current processor?
What Oron and ha14 are saying is mostly true, if your current processor is not from the i3-i7 line it is not possible to upgrade to it because the socket will not align properly with the chip.
processors have socket a place to fit, core i5 is little bigger i believe.
I'm afraid not. It comes with an Intel® Pentium® processor (B940, B950 or B960) and can't be upgraded.
