Why won’t audiobooks play properly on my iPod Touch?

Pamela Bedbrook August 23, 2012

After adding an audiobook through iTunes and then syncing with my iPod. When listening, each track just plays then stops and does not proceed to the next. What can I do?

My guess is itunes sees every file as an indivudual book, you need to select all the files of the audiobook right-click and choose Get Info or similar. Fill in the album field and some other information if you think it is wrong. Empty fields are either empty across all files, or different for some files and therefor not filled in.

Optionally if the book is part of the series you can go to the sorting tab and fill in the album sorting field. I use th following template " - Book - " that iTunes will show all books of a series in the right order, which makes finding a specific book a lot easier.

oh, I used lower-then and greater-then signs to indicate placeholders in my template. Lets try curly brackets this time...

      "{Title of series} - Book {Number} - {Title of book}"
