The Android TV interface has been updated to make it easier to discover new things to watch. It brings the Android TV experience more inline with what's offered by Chromecast with Google TV.

Android TV's New Home, Discover, and Apps Tabs

As announced on the Android TV Help forum, the Android TV interface has been updated to help you easily discover new shows and movies.

Three new tabs are available at the top of the screen: Home, Discover, and Apps.

The Home tab remains much like it was before, giving you quick access to your often-used apps and channels. The Apps tab lets you access all of your installed apps.

The key addition is the Discover tab. This gives you personalized recommendations based on what you watch, your interests, and what's trending on Google generally.

It combines movies, shows, and live TV recommendations across all your apps. No longer do you need to go into each individual app to see what best suits you.

The update is available on Android TV devices now in the US, Australia, Canada, Germany, and France. More countries will receive the update in the coming weeks.

While it's not quite the same as the Chromecast with Google TV interface, it brings the two more inline with one another.
