Google has announced Entertainment Space, a new one-stop location for Android tablet users to find movies, shows, games, and books. It will show content recommendations from various services, thereby saving one the hassle of jumping through various apps.

Google says that there has been a 30 percent rise in the number of people using Android tablets over the last year. With most families sharing one Android tablet among themselves, it is introducing Entertainment Space so that every family member can easily watch the content they want without switching between multiple apps.

What Is Entertainment Space?

Entertainment Space features three tabs: Watch, Games, and Read. The Watch tab will surface video recommendations and trending content from various streaming services like Hulu, Twitch, YouTube, and others. It will also show movies and TV shows that you can watch, rent, or buy from Google TV.

The Continue Watching row will allow you to resume watching your favorite TV show or movie from the point you last left it at.

The Games tab will show game recommendations from Google Play games. It also features a Continue Playing row, so you can easily jump back into the game you were last playing. Some of the games listed in Entertainment Space will support Instant play, meaning you can instantly start playing these games on your Android tablet without having to download them first.

Then, there's the Read tab that will surface book recommendations from Google Play Books. It has audiobooks recommendations as well if you want to give your tired eyes a rest. You will get free sneak peeks into selected books, with the tab also surfacing trending or discounted books.

Entertainment Space is similar to Kids Space, which Google released last year for kids under nine to surface apps, books, and videos recommendations for them to watch and learn. With Entertainment Space, Google is bringing the same experience but for adults.

Entertainment Space supports multiple profiles, so every member of your family can have their own personalized content recommendations.

Entertainment Space Coming to Select Android Tablets

Entertainment Space will be useful for someone who tends to use their Android tablet primarily for watching and consuming content. It will also be a useful addition for families that share the same tablet for watching content.

Google will roll out Entertainment Space to Walmart's onn. tablets from this month. Later this year, it will roll out the feature globally to selected Android tablets from Lenovo, Sharp, and others.
