Why are my Android phone's folders showing up as shortcuts?

I have a HTC One V phone, as I connect my phone to laptop for file transfer, it shows all folders as shortcut. What should I do to fix it?

open device managerlocate HTC One V phone driverright click on it and choose uninstall (do not delete)from Action tab click on Scan For Hardware changes or unplug HTC One V and reboot
