The Key by Amazon In-Garage Grocery Delivery, which launched back in November 2020, has also proved to be a success. Originally, this service was available in just five cities, but the company has now decided to expand it to all places where it provides grocery deliveries.

Amazon’s in-house delivery service called Amazon Key dates back to 2017 and was launched as a solution to the porch piracy issue.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Amazon added Key support for in-garage grocery deliveries. However, the new service was limited to just five cities: Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle.
In the Amazon press release, Pete Gerstberger, the Head of Key by Amazon, announced that its in-garage grocery deliveries are expanding further:

As customers look for more convenience in their daily lives, we’re excited to deliver another service that not only helps them save time, but provides peace of mind knowing that tonight’s dinner is safe in their garage and out of the weather

How to Use the Key by Amazon In-Garage Grocery Delivery Service
The Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market in-garage order deliveries are available for all Prime members at no additional cost.
However, to make your garage compatible with Key Delivery, you’ll need to install a myQ-connected smart garage door opener. Without this device, the delivery service professional won’t be able to get into your garage to fulfill your order. So, this device is essential to qualify for the Key Delivery service.
If you wish, you can also use a compatible home camera to view a video of the delivery. However, this is not a requirement.
