It basically acts like a bicycle chain without a combination, you simply plug in the gear cable's ends to the R1T and lock the vehicle.
Once the vehicle is locked, the plugged-in gear cable cannot be removed. If the vehicle detects any tampering with the cable, it will automatically activate the Gear Guard security system in order to monitor the surroundings and keep your gear safe.
