I installed Windows Live Mail to take the place of Outlook Express and have found it unreliable. Is there any other email handling software?

Thereare various email handling software, to name a few : MicrosoftOutlook, Thunderbird, Pegasus, Eudora or other web mail client likeGmail. All these email programs have their specific features, but Ilike and use Microsoft Outlook due to its distinguished features andsupport. You can try it if you want a more professional mailingexperience.

Having asked the original question, I was impressed with the speed of the replies and I did set up gmail in parallel with Windows Live Mail with success.  However, I have since managed to fix WLM so that it works OK. Thanks to everyone who contributed!

I've used Mozilla Thunderbird for a few years and it's pretty nice (it's made by the same company as Firefox). If you have MS Office (or can get it for a discounted price), Microsoft Outlook is widely used as well (not Outlook Express, just Outlook).

I would add Windows Live Mail to the list.

Hello, have you tried thunderbird?  It is free email software created by Mozilla, same creators of Firefox.  Here is the link:http://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/thunderbird/features/
