I have a Canon printer, but I am having problems connecting it to my laptop because it says the printer spooler has stopped. What does this mean and how can I fix it.

Hello, just to show you another possible way of accessing the spooler service:-- right click on taskbar-- select, start task manager-- on menu, click on services tab-- look for spooler service. if service is stopped, you can right click on spooler entry and then click on start-- you can also click on the service tab at bottom right of the services page-- all the services will show there-- look for print spooler service-- right click on entry and select properties-- you can stop or start the service from thereMake sure to look under dependencies. Sometimes, if a system component is not installed, or corrupted it can cause the print spooler service to not work. There should be two dependencies showing: HTTP and also Remote Procedure Call

If you use software like IOBit Game Booster, disable it and enable it making sure to keep the print spooler from being disabled. These programs disable services and programs that it deems unnecessary to run during games and will disable the print spooler in order to give better performance.

Do as Richard Said, it is the best one, but sometimes you find that the spooler is stop running after you start it. It may happen because some reasons like antivirus, security, updating software, etc.

It is a simple fix, usually. The Print Spooler service needs to be stopped and started again. Here is some quick steps for ya. (You need to be a administrator to do this)1. Click Start2. Right click Computer (My Computer for Windows XP) and select Manage3. The Computer Management snapin should come up, from here click "Services and Application" on the left hand list.4. Click Services5. Now you should have a list of Widows Services, search for Print Spooler. Once you find it Right click it and select Stop.6. Once it is done, Right click it again and select "Start"Now the printer should work nicely :)
