During its Next @ Acer event, Acer revealed four new Chromebooks, including the world's first Chromebook with a 17-inch display. Among the four models, the Acer Chromebook 317 and Chromebook Spin 713 will launch in June. The Acer Chromebook 314 and Chromebook 514 will launch in July and October respectively.

The Acer Chromebook 317 Comes With a 17.3-Inch Display

In a press release on Cision PR Newswire, Acer stated that the Chromebook 317 will feature a FHD 17.3-inch display to aid multitasking and image clarity. The display is surrounded by narrow bezels and an anti-glare coating.

The large display and the webcam are aimed at remote workers who need to hop into video calls frequently. Additionally, users can also choose a touchscreen model to better suit their needs.

Owing to its large size, the Acer Chromebook 317's keyboard comes with a dedicated numeric keypad. The keyboard has optional backlighting as well. Surrounding the keyboard are two upward-facing speakers.

While the Acer Chromebook 317 is the company's largest offering, it's far from being the most powerful. Under its hood, the laptop's variants pack Intel Celeron Processors with an option for Intel Pentium as well. This is complemented by up to 8 GB of dual-channel LPDDR4X SDRAM and Intel UHD Graphics.

Coming to storage, users can opt for up to 128 GB of eMMC memory. The Acer Chromebook weighs in at 2.35 KG and offers a battery life of up to 10 hours.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 713 is Intel Evo Certified

In another industry first, the Acer Chromebook 713 and Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 713 are the "world's first Intel® Evo™ platform-verified Chromebooks." This means that the laptops guarantee speed and Thunderbolt 4 support.

Both laptops come with a premium design coupled with a military-grade aluminum chassis to justify the $699 price tag.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 713 also comes with two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support. The ports can be used for power delivery, transferring data, and transmitting video and audio feeds to external displays.

Additionally, Acer has also provided users the option of a fingerprint reader.

In the display department, the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 features a 13.5-inch display with a resolution of 2256x1504 that offers 18% more vertical screen space. The laptop also come with DTS Audio and a built-in smart amplifier for better audio experience.
