Amazon announced its Q1 2021 earnings, and as you might expect, the company generated a lot of revenue and even managed to beat many of the predictions.

This isn't a surprise to anyone, but what's more shocking is Jeff Bezos revealing that 175 million users watch Amazon Prime Video over the last year, as reported by Variety. That is just an absurd amount of people taking in TV shows and movies through Amazon's premium video service, which is one of the better streaming services on the market.

Amazon Prime Video's Success

During the company's Q1 earnings announcement, current Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos also talked about some other critical aspects of Amazon's business. He revealed that 175 million people streamed movies and TV shows through Amazon Prime Video, which is a surprisingly high number.

Additionally, Prime Video streaming hours were up more than 70 percent compared to the previous year, which is a massive jump. Of course, that's not particularly shocking, as people had a lot more time at home to watch streaming content thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

What Does the Future Hold for Amazon Prime Video?

Jeff Bezos didn't talk too much about the future of Prime Video. Still, with the massive increase in popularity, it would make sense for the company to continue to invest in content for its streaming service that comes as part of Amazon Prime.
