Sometimes, when I use WiFi on my laptop downloading works but no single web page can be opened. In that case only tor browser works while other browsers don't.

Why does this happen and any suggestions on how to resolve it?

Is your firewall blocking outbound connections from your non-Tor web browser?

Is it possible that port 80 is blocked in your router. This would explain why normal HTTP traffic doesn't work. I believe Tor operates on other ports, but I don't know which ones exactly.
