    Here in the UK, we call it bus stop and train station.

      A bus stations is not the same as bus stop, it is more like a large train station. For example a bus will stop at many bus stops before it arrives (and stops) at the bus station. For a bus, the station essentially is the place where all or at least many bus lines come together.

        Oh, I understand now. My bad. Would have been better if it went: “A bus station is where buses stop. A train station is where trains stop. On my desk, I have a work station…” More accurate and flows better than before. Still, very funny!

    a bus bus or train in need of maintenance (work) has to stay (stop) at the (work)station until the job is finished. if the bus/train is beyond repair, it’s retired from service. the stationmaster (boss) invests in a new bus/train or assigns the routes to other busses/trains. and so it goes…
