Turn An Old LCD Monitor Into A Cool Privacy Monitor

A geek user from Instructables was able to pull a really cool hack with an old LCD monitor. By removing the polarized film within the LCD monitor and attaching it to a pair of sunglasses he created a Privacy Monitor. Only the wearer of the glasses can see displayed content on the Privacy Monitor; everyone else will see a white screen.

If you want to make your own Privacy Monitor follow the step by step guide on Instructables.

It doesn’t work that way. The video is a joke

Did you check out the instructions at Instructables? Sounds pretty convincing to me.

Yeh… It does actually. The video isn’t a joke. There is a sheet of polarizing film in LCD monitors, and this does work. So… this is awkward…

It’s a polarized lens showing a display polarized the same way, which is totally awesome and radically innovative!
