Well in a way you really cannot compare Android vs IPhone. They are both different. But I would say only if Android comes up with a app database like IPhone has, than it’ll rock, it already has the hardware, it only needs the apps to use that hardware.
IPhone in the other hand has the best app database there is, but needs to redesign their IOS, it’s getting boring. Devices do not change nor the IOS.
Android is just like Windows XP, runs both on a $100 system or a $1000 one.
Now a days, customization is the way to go, and Android gives you that option.

android has CUSTOMIZATION +++ APPS(& all of them are free)
android has “blackmart.apk” that makes EVERY PAID APP in google play store FREE
comparing to cydia…i tried it and I realized that those are same people as APP STORE…PAYING in customization apps
and the worst thing in apple products is that when i’m using iPod or iPhone 4s I feel the same
& that sucks

I’m also in favor of Android, due to the face of the open platform and the easy of customization.
But there is a point on the apps.
We’re here talking quality not quantity. Google has 650,000 apps, as you say, but they are not all quality apps.
There is no way you can beat apple in app database. They have some very heavy and powerful apps out there, where is in Android, the apps feels very cheesy and not up to the mark.
Yet again, Android is coming to a point where it will rock, it has started rocking via the open hardware compatibility list.
