Call me "Newbie." OK, thanks. I *am* a newbie. So, does this mean a malicious pop-up (dialogue box?) can trick a user into clicking on exactly the opposite of what they want to do? Scary! Then, it would be Click "Cancel" to install malware, and "OK" to get loaded with evil junk. -- Do you know if this box could be entirely fake, or if it really is a safety warning from your own computer, just relying on how it looks? I have read that there's a standard appearance to these warning boxes, which are themselves OK -- and that the danger comes when a website causes a warning to pop up, "customized" with the misleading text/body (that normally would be written to help you, not hurt you).

As weird as this sounds - the warning seems to be genuinely correct.

The warning come up when you close a web page.
Clicking ok continues to close the web page - which would mean the installation is canceled.
Clicking cancel stops the web page from closing - which would take you back to the installation.

Note - The installation won't start until you click start on the previous dialog box.

Of course it could be used as a classic example of Bad user design though.

This is why you should always look to the first question in this sort of dialog, which is "Are you sure you want to cancel?"

Seems pretty straight-forward to me.

Zango is the worst thief of thieves. Not only do they infect your computer with spyware, they also steal affiliate commissions by illegal cookie stuffing.

Anybody who even sees their name should get as far as way as possible. And any affiliate who would ever consider prmoting their toolbar is committing seppuku as they will later come back and steal their commissions.
