As I’ve discussed before, there seems to be a something about fictional post-apocalyptic worlds that draw modern viewers in. Perhaps it’s the notion of a world with limited technology. Maybe it’s the idea of actual danger. These are two things that most of us reading MakeUseOf do not necessarily have to face, and with a post-apocalyptic world, we can view these possibilities at a safe distance.

We’ve already seen a list of the best music videos featuring floppy disk drives, and now it’s time to broaden our horizons a little and bring more tech hardware into the mix. It’s amazing the variety of machines and old gadgets that can be reimagined as music-making instruments.

Being a fast food aficionado, I recently recognized that it was high time for me to get back in the kitchen. I’ve spent way too long eating my meals on the run, and I’m sure that many of you could relate. However, part of my trouble was figuring out what I should cook! You can think of this Chrome extension as the “Read-It-Later” for YouTube videos. It performs nearly the same job for YouTube videos as does the so named browser add-on does for webpages. The Chrome extension called Video History for YouTube has a few more tricks up its sleeve which makes managing all the YouTube videos you watch (or intend to) a little easier.

In my opinion, YouTube is the best market for putting your music into the public eye. There are so many opportunities that it provides, ranging from building a raw personal fan base all the way to being discovered by a major record label. Also, if the record label thing doesn’t work out, there’s always the chance of being picked up as a YouTube partner.

If I had enough money I’d buy a slow-motion capture camera that shoots video at hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of frames per second. As it is, I don’t have very much money to spend on eye-wateringly expensive photographic gear so I’ll have to make do with other people’s videos instead. The fascination for slow motion video has a lot to do with the world we can’t see, much like macro and microscopic photography.
