It’s that time of year again and hurricane season is creeping up on us fast. It seems as if the storms get worse each year. I heard about TS Hannah threatening us and is supposed to be reaching the Carolina’s this weekend! If you live in an area that frequently gets hit or if you are just a hurricane fanatic you will love this website I just found called Stormpulse.
No really there are people that watch and wait for this kind of stuff that terrorizes others! Remember the movie Twister?

Are you one of those internet users who is addicted to Yahoo and will only use Google if you can’t find it on Yahoo? Well, I know a quite a few people like that but after showing them all that you can do with Google, they were very quick and eager to switch.
A lot of people complain about Google but you have to give them credit, their search functions are some of the best around right now. So, since there’s so much that you can do with Google Search, I decided to share a few shortcuts with you that I’m sure will come in handy.

Twitter is a great tool that helps you keep in touch and meet a wide variety of new people. Since its release there have been people who think Twitter is worth your time and some who think it’s a waste of time.

I got my first (and only) Mac about a year ago and discovered I hated one of the major features that makes OS X different from Windows. I resented having to move my mouse so high, just to get at the file or edit menu way up there in the menu bar. I’ve since come to love the menu bar and I’ve recently begun experimenting with some small apps that sit there unobtrusively waiting for me to glance at them or access them — often with a hotkey.

Finally my hunt is over. Aibek, the main author of MakeUseOf told me when I first started being a guest writer that there is a “free version for everything”. So I sought out to replace any of the desktop applications that I used with free (and preferably open source) desktop only programs.
I don’t feel ashamed that I had paid for these programs since they did provide useful services to me until recently. Now I know better. Here are the results (please note I tried several other options before deciding on these applications):
