When it comes to photo-sharing, Flickr is definitely leading the game. It’s interface is simple and easy to use but for those of us who need more from it than just uploading and sharing photos, I’ve got these applications that will pull Flickr out of its ordinary shell into a more extraordinary light. Get ready!
Wallpaper is an ever fascinating topic for me. Earlier this year I wrote an in depth article on pimping wallpapers and we’re constantly adding new desktop wallpaper resources to the Make Use Of directory. Today I have a very cool tool for you.
John’s Background Switcher is different from all previously mentioned applications, because not only can it load images from a predefined folder on your machine, it can also load them from online sources such as Flickr, Picasa and Yahoo. Let’s take a look at how to set it up to work with Flickr.

A lot has been posted on Make Use Of about docks, widgets, toolbars, and whole packages to transform your default Windows interface into something more appealing. The possibilities are endless and a new tool has just joined the scene.
Stardock’s MyColors is surprisingly quick and easy to handle. The download took a while, but the installation itself was super fast. It made me wonder how well the program was going to perform. I was surprised to find that applying the included Diamond theme went just as rapid.

Back in February I asked for screenshots of your desktops and I promised the coolest would be featured on Make Use Of. So here are my three favorites in the order they were received.

The menu you see is Rocketdock, which has been covered and mentioned several times on Make Use Of. It’s a great tool if you quickly want to access your most used programs.
