The Saturn was the console that pretty much forced Sega out of the console making business. Sure, it managed to push the Dreamcast to market after, but consumers were so burned by the botched launch of the Saturn, that it was simply a lamb led to slaughter. While that the Dreamcast was a fantastic console, there was nothing Sega could have done with it to bring consumers back to their side again.

I've made it a point to highlight League of Legends pretty narrowly in many of my recent posts related to gaming. The game is absolutely huge and it's only going to continue growing larger. In just days, Riot will be hosting an LCS All-Star event that is expected to receive stream viewers up into the millions. The new season's competitive structure allows any individual player or team to have a realistic shot at competing with the very best.

Dota 2 is a huge game right now, and while it may not be as popular as League of Legends, it is hot on its heels with an ever rising player base. As a whole, the MOBA genre is growing by leaps and bounds every single day, with new players discovering it and deciding to take the time to learn what these games bring to the table. With all of that being said, Dota 2 and League of Legends are hard games to learn.

The buzz behind aumented reality seems to have died down somewhat but with Google's Project Glass looming in the distance, the technology is bound to see a resurgence in popularity. How this will relate to gaming remains to be seen, but there are already a large variety of AR games to choose from regardless of your mobile OS. I've spent some serious time over the past week putting some of the most popular implementations through their paces on my iPhone in the hope to find out if AR really is the future or not.

If there is one thing licensed games are not typically known for, it's quality. More often than not, licensed games are rushed to market to coincide with a movie or other major media release. That's fine though, because the League of Legends community seems incredibly generous in sharing their builds and other ideas. I still remember the exact day that I unboxed my Nintendo 64. I've always been a huge gamer and a bit of a nerd, and that console was a big step for me. Playing my NES, SNES, and Genesis every day became a thing of the past once I got my hands on Wave Race 64, Super Mario 64, and Diddy Kong Racing. I never picked those consoles up again. The Nintendo 64 is definitely one of the best gaming consoles of all time.

About a month ago I got hooked on a little game known as Dota 2 , and I’ve been playing it nonstop ever since. I tried League of Legends initially, and for some reason, it did not click with me. A friend convinced me to give Dota 2 a shot, but I was reluctant after not liking LoL , but after about a week of wearing me down, I gave in and decided to try it out. It grabbed me instantly, and I am incredibly happy that I tried it.

Ten years ago Bioware released a game called Neverwinter Nights. Though disappointing as a single-player RPG, the campaign wasn't really the point. Instead, the game focused on user-generated multiplayer content built with the amazingly powerful Aurora toolset. Players eventually used the game and its sequel, Neverwinter Nights 2, to build sprawling co-op campaigns and miniature MMOs. Now, a new Neverwinter title has been released by Cryptic
